The lost sheep is found
Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. Luke 15:7
Jesus told a story about a shepherd who had a hundred sheep. One of them wandered away and got lost. What would a shepherd do in a situation like that? I suppose you could say: “Well, he still has 99 sheep in his flock. That’s plenty. Besides, that foolish sheep should have known better than to wander away. It deserves to be lost.”
How would you feel if you were that lost sheep, and it was getting dark, and you didn’t know where you were or how to get back to the flock? Jesus says a Good Shepherd will search for that one lost sheep until he finds it. And when he comes back with that sheep, everyone will know, because the shepherd is so happy.
Jesus should know, because that is how He feels about you.
