In recognition of National Lutheran Schools' Week

Jesus is the MISSION of our school: History reveals a number of important missions: Columbus’ mission to discover America; Lewis and Clark’s mission to explore the Louisiana Purchase.

Jesus always knew what His mission was. John the Baptist announced at Jesus’ baptism, “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” During His earthly ministry, Jesus took care of every detail of God’s plan perfectly. Jesus died on the cross, saying, “It is finished.” His mission was accomplished.

We are blessed not only to know about Jesus’ mission, but to receive the blessings of all that He accomplished. Jesus died for our sins. We know that we are God’s children now, and that we will be with Him forever. We have the privilege of telling others what Jesus has done for us and of sharing God’s gifts.

Thank you, Jesus, for completing the greatest mission ever, the salvation of the world. Help me to share Your mission with others. In Your name I pray. Amen.
